Be Specific

Note specific issues:

  • Small stains or marks
  • Minor damage
  • Missing parts
  • Wear patterns

Be Consistent

Use the same standards:

  • Your "Very Good" should always mean the same thing
  • Document your criteria
  • Apply consistently

Using Conditions

When Adding Inventory

  • Inspect items carefully
  • Select the appropriate condition
  • Note any specific issues in description

For Pricing

Condition affects value:

  • New items command premium prices
  • Used items priced accordingly

In Listings

Match platform condition requirements:

  • Use the platform's terminology
  • Be accurate to avoid disputes
  • Add details beyond the condition rating

Best Practices

  1. Inspect thoroughly - Check items completely before assigning condition
  2. Be conservative - When in doubt, use a lower condition rating
  3. Document defects - Note and photograph any issues
  4. Match platforms - Use condition terms buyers understand
  5. Update if needed - Change condition if you discover issues later
