Statuses

Learn how to configure workflow statuses to track items through your reselling process.

Statuses help you track where each item is in your workflow, from acquisition to sale.

Overview

A status represents a stage in your process:

  • Received
  • Cleaning
  • Photography
  • Listed
  • Sold
  • Shipped

Customize statuses to match how you actually work.

  2. Listed
  3. Sold
  4. Shipped

  7. Sold
  8. Packaging

Choosing Colors

Use colors meaningfully:

  • Gray - Initial stages (Received)
  • Blue - In progress (Processing, Testing)
  • Yellow - Attention needed (Needs Photos)
  • Green - Positive (Listed, Sold)
  • Purple - Final stages (Shipped)

Organizing Statuses

Sort Order

Arrange statuses in workflow order:

  1. First status = start of process
  2. Last status = end of process
  3. Drag to reorder

Grouping

Consider grouping related statuses:

  • Pre-listing statuses
  • Active statuses
  • Completed statuses

Using Statuses Effectively

Update Promptly

Change status as soon as work is done:

  • Finished cleaning? Update to next status
  • Listed the item? Mark as Listed
  • Shipped? Update immediately

Filter by Status

Use status filters to:

  • See what needs work
  • Find items ready to list
  • Track shipped items

Batch Processing

Work on items with the same status:

  • Clean all "Received" items at once
  • Photograph all "Ready for Photos" items
  • List all "Ready to List" items

Best Practices

  1. Keep it simple - Don't create too many statuses
  2. Match reality - Statuses should reflect your actual workflow
  3. Update consistently - Always keep statuses current
  4. Use colors - Make important statuses stand out
  5. Review periodically - Adjust statuses as your process evolves
